No to war! Out of NATO now!
5 March 2026
Britain’s people must decide against the USA’s attack on Iran, born of the desire to control global energy. This is not a war of our making, we should have no part of it.

Britain’s people must decide against the USA’s attack on Iran, born of the desire to control global energy. This is not a war of our making, we should have no part of it.
Britain needs to be out of NATO and out of the grip of US foreign policy. The alternative is to be dragged into wars of America’s – and the EU’s – making…
With chancellor Rachel Reeves looking around for funds to prepare for war, it’s instructive to see how the Nazis approached the problem…
May Day 2026: For British independence, for peace
Friday 1 May, 7.30pm
Bertrand Russell Room, Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, London WC1R 4RL
On May Day we take stock of Britain and the world.
The ruling class and the government use wars overseas to divert from their attack against the British working class, foremost their plan to rejoin the EU. Reject their plan and join us in rebuilding an independent Britain.
The British working class can act as a force for peace by calling for an end to foreign adventures and interference by our government. We must use our resources for our many needs here in Britain. The essential and urgent task for workers is to rebuild and maintain an independent industrial base – including defence.
Come to celebrate May Day and join the discussion.
All welcome. Free Entry.
Workers of all lands, unite!
Fight for independence!
No to war!

President Donald Trump has created a “Board of Peace”. The way things are going, it looks more like an attempt to maintain US hegemony over international affairs and to bypass the United Nations.
7 January 2026
US military action against Venezuela should be universally condemned as a violation of sovereignty. This highlights once again the role of Britain in NATO, and the presence of US bases here. They pose a threat to our sovereignty.
28 November 2025
Obsession with the appalling events in Palestine is to the detriment of workers here in Britain. And unless we force the government to stay out of the conflict, will not help the people of the region.
Taxes will rise in the Budget on 26 November – what’s the excuse? Tories, Reform, Brexit, lazy workers, low productivity. Never the EU, never devolution, never net zero policy, never lack of investment, never the debt to financial markets and interest paid. Never capitalism.
Can we be sure any longer the Ukraine war will stay in Ukraine? That’s the question warmongers – civilian and military – want us to fret about, talking about preparation for escalation…
No to NATO/EU War

The government talks peace but can’t keep away from its drive to war. Starmer wants to support Ukraine and now to become involved in the Pacific too.
The ruling class uses war overseas to divert from its problems at home. But the British working class can best act as force for peace by calling for an end to foreign adventures and interference.

11 August 2025
The Labour government has spread its talk of war to the Pacific, against China in particular. This is a dangerous development.
11 August 2025
In contrast to the Labour government, the RMT union sees the folly in backing Ukraine against Russia. It says that won’t lead to peace.
1 July 2025
The decision to buy F-35A aircraft, armed with nuclear weapons under US control, brings us closer to war.
Keir Starmer and his government do not defend Britain. They do not act in our interests but cynically pretend that they do…
Whatever the prime minister is saying about caution, President Trump is already using British bases to further warmaking in the Middle East.
Aggressive new NATO head Mark Rutte of the Netherlands has stated that NATO should “shift to a wartime mindset and turbocharge defence production”.
25 June 2025
An alternative defence review challenges assumptions about the necessity of increasing militarisation. Jobs in defence are not the answer to industrial decline.
British involvement in overseas adventures should be a thing of the past. It has brought conflict, not peace. And now British armed forces are to be used against Iran.
4 June 2025
Since he became prime minister, Keir Starmer has toured the world talking war and preparing for war, moving back closer to the EU. This is not in Britain’s interest. He says the defence review will regenerate industry, but his government is doing the opposite.
4 April 2025
The idea of conscription keeps returning. The ruling class wants to make the idea acceptable. The defence of Britain is a far wider matter and workers need to ask questions about that.
Three years after Russia invaded Ukraine, and after decades of US meddling in that country, there is no peace in the region. Britain should stay out and focus on the needs of our own country.
The Bolsheviks called for “Peace, Land and Bread” in 1917 at a time of crisis and transition in Russia. They aimed to unite a country weary of a war for rulers they despised and for aims they did not share.
What can workers do to stop the growing threat of war? Perhaps the first question we need to ask is: do they want to stop it?
The campaign against the return of US nuclear weapons to British soil after a 15-year absence is gathering pace.

Political statement from the Communist Party of Britain Marxist-Leninist, 20th Congress, London, June 2024.
Escalating military action in the Middle East rightly worries British workers. But nothing good comes from involving Britain in these conflicts.
25 October 2024
The defence pact with Germany just announced is the latest step in the Labour government’s warmongering. Since the election, Starmer and his ministers have actively ramped up NATO commitments in the name of “defence”.
